there's a secret mission you unlock when you play the mission Media Blitz. You have to destroy a building in the lower right hand corner of the map. You can't go back and unlock it after you've beaten the campaign, it won't work. You need a fresh campaign playthrough to unlock it.

fyi if anyone wants to play some online with me, my character name is Booster, code 460.

Well there are the Zeratul missions, and the fact that you didn't do the mission where you have to blow up the nydus network. There's also the secret mission that you get in the Odin mission.

Just look through the list. I'm stuck at 23/26 even though I went back and did ones I had never done.

the missions where you have to make a choice don't count for the 26. There are 29 missions in total to account for the 3 where there are two choices.

21 main missions
4 zeratul missions
1 hidden mission
3 extra choices

You get an achievement for completing 26/26 missions, you get an achievement for completing all missions (i.e. all 29).

I know, it's kind of balls. I only got it because I explore every nook and cranny I can on each map. you never know when you'll find secrets. I would have missed it too if I didn't do that.

Tell me about it. I survived with just one particular unit at the end of it.

Did the campaign again, this time by taking out the air platform. All I needed were a shitload of siege tanks, lots of banshees (including the merc banshees), and chokepoint defense with bunkers and supply depots. The psi disruptor helped too. I didn't even really have to use the nova. I just used it for shits and giggles when Kerrigan showed up.

I hate All In with a passion, I get to 66% with 200 units and then get steam rolled and have the nova on cooldown when it happens.

lol. yeah i think my mistake was trying too hard. spending too much time on defensive fortifications when really the best defense is offense. i set up the typical defense perimeter with about 4 bunkers at the top and 5 at the bottom and filled them with firebats for the most part. i set up about 5 tanks around the messa including merc ones whenever i could. then i went all out banshees and the occasional thor. i just used the thors behind the bunkers to back them up, and with a massive squad of banshees i made short work of everything.

before i was trying to utilize too many different types of units, and wasting too much time and resources on yamatos. they arent worth it at all. the banshees are way faster and may not hit as hard but even a squad of 20 is pretty much invincible on normal, and can destroy anything in one volley. unfortunately kerrigan can take out 10+ so i tried to only use my nova thingy when she was nearby just to cut down my losses. she usually went for the tanks first anyway.

The best defense is a good offense, destroying the Nydus Worms constantly helped me loads with a smooth victory. Having about 5 Banshees on either side and then another 8-10 for clearing out the Nydus Worms guaranteed me a victory without so much as a scratch on the artifact.

That's the way, man. Loads of tanks and banshees, in addition to the usual bunkers/wall of supply depots.

I didn't even build tanks, just some Diamondbacks, had a couple of Thor's for base defense against Nydus Worms and the rest was Banshee, Marines, Elite Firebats and Medics. I found that Diamondbacks were huge in some missions because they could just nuke down Zerg swarms like nothing.

Really? Diamondbacks? I didn't find them useful except for in the train mission. Speaking of which, I'm going to go play that one. There's an achievement I didn't get.

FFS sometimes I hate being online ALL the time. I just wanted to do that mission, and I got sucked into a 3 person party so my teammates could watch me completely cripple one guy by killing his nexus, forge and cybernetics core, and then take out another guy's 3 stargates, while they sit in their base and build defense. What happens? The one guy I didn't attack takes over the game and we lose.

Yup, turtle does not work in competitive play, especially online. I have found this out just from playing the campaign, you really have to be both proactive and reactive when it comes to combat and winning rounds, otherwise you lose. Sitting in your base building up defense won't help you when you get rushed, unless you can counter it properly of course but scouting early helps you out plenty. The best defense is a strong offense which means you need to have a fortified base but still have units out to take down the enemy base.

Holy fucking shit... I just got the Blitzkrieg achievement in the Media Blitz mission. That took me about 15 tries, literally. I was less than a minute over 20:00 TWICE, and the one time that I got it I was less than 30 seconds away from not getting it. Knowing my luck, I'll see 1000 Matt Horner portraits the instant I get mine.

turtling is useless. was in the original game as well. i think they made it that way just to keep the pace up. defences are weak for all three factions.
one of the reasons i really like Dawn of War (warhammer 40k) is that every faction is so completely different, and some are viable for turtles such as the imperial guard. if you are playing teams, one guy takes imperial guard and just focuses on defences till he could make that fortress tank thing... while the other guy went with a good offensive faction like the orcs, and just focuses on getting the troops out there raiding and you were fucking deadly.
Necrons were powerhouses but move way to fucking slow.
DOW2 was cool but it was so far removed from the typical RTS that it just wasnt the same.

Finally finished all the Rebellion achievements and got my Matt Horner portrait. Some of that shit is damn hard to do. I couldn't imagine beating every mission on brutal difficulty. I see a lot of Kerrigan portraits, too. Crazy shit.
